while on holiday i purchased a white centred agave can anyone give some info on this plant compared to the americana and the blue version try to post a picture soon.

without the pic, it sounds like it could be "medio picta"

If medio picta then less hardy, much smaller but more beautiful.

what kind of lows if kept dry out side undercover

It's not a plant I would risk outside all winter.

This is a picture of my medio picta from last summer.I overwintered it in my unheated polytunnel,It now looks horrible :( .We use the polytunnel to dry washing in winter,I think this caused condensation to drip on the agave,it then got some sort of fungal infection.A bit late in the day I sprayed it with bordeaux mix and moved into the house,which stopped the rot.It is slowly growing out the damage,I think it will be a couple of years before it looks as nice again.Be careful of slug/snail attacks.
