Large wagnerianus in the UK
Large wagnerianus in the UK
Waggies can look really good if they hold loads of fronds. Here are some examples i found on this forum. Perhaps it's nice to collect them in one thread. Any more of these in the UK?

love the pics hope my small one grows up to look that good. I think I would trim mine to the horizontal leaves and get rid of the low hangers myself but beautiful in all those pics

It looks great Steve! Thanks for the update.
It seems large waggies are rare. Where did all the plants of Peter Jenkins end up?
There are more large washies in the UK than waggies I believe..

Re: Large wagnerianus in the UK
I have a few large ones in my back garden but its almost impossible to get a decent picture of them as they are buried in a mass of foliage from other plants?
The tallest one that I have is about 15 feet to the topmost leaves and the other 2 are about 12 feet tall.
The one in my front garden is about 10 feet tall and can just be seen amongst the Trachys in a video I put on youtube last year called [AN EXOTIC GARDEN IN SOUTHAMPTON UK].
It may be possible to just see the 3 large ones in the back garden in that same video.

OMG! just watched your video, first time i've seen your garden-absolutely amazing. Got to be one of, if not THE best gardens on here. I now know what your"side entrance" is & just how many big trachies have you got? I kept loosing count

One 5 foot R hystrix.
Plus 2 6 foot H forsteriana in pots.
One 5 foot C lutescens in a pot.
And a few other things that i can't remember at the moment.....
