So what's everyone's best/fav bamboo for a pot I know they won't do as well but I really want one
I like Chusquea but read not ideal for pots anyone tryed ? I don't like sasa and other bamboos that look like
Like that I like to be able to see the culms

I have grown a lot of bamboos to a large size in pots at a relatives house, the best performer was Phyllostachys bissetii in a 100 litre container full of John Innes no.3.
Grown really well, produces literally 4 times as many culms as Phyllostachys nigra which was in the exact same conditions, second place was Phyllostachys aureosulcata f. aureocaulis

A big pot with regular watering and feeding will sustain a Chuaquea in the short term. They have deep roots compared to other bamboos. I think mine were in pots for three seasons.
