Phoenix canariensis grow out to their full span before they start to 'go up', so the one in Pimlico has reached that, so will now go skywards icon_thumright I think it was originally planted in a pot on the roundabout, which may have stunted it a bit too...

Stumbled upon these near Peckham Rye today: Phoenix canariensis_CIDP, Butia, and a washy behind the butia (which I didn't notice until I looked at the pics at home)?

I was in the Tulse Hill area of South London yesterday and deliberately looked up this Phoenix canariensis that I hadn't seen for quite a few years.I was very impressed.
