Sunday morning rain was great but the ground is still bone dry.

I did a bit of planting on Sunday and was staggered how dry the soil was after what seemed like a lot of rain.

Our brief 'changeable' spell began with thunderstorms Friday evening and ended with another thunderstorm around dawn this Monday morning with a rather wet and windy spell in between. However, the total rainfall over the period only amounted to 11mm and prolonged dry weather has returned. Out rainfall was the proverbial storm in a teacup!

Better replenishing rainfall totals for the last two days. An all day rain yesterday gave 10mm here and today's beefy thundery showers added another 5mm so far. Enjoyed the brilliant blue skies and beutifully picked out thunder heads. Never enjoyed the British style rainfall so much
