 Croston Cactus
For anyone in or around Chorley, Lancashire, or anyone wanting a trip out, i can HIGHLY recommend Croston Cactus, which is a family run business from their lovely home with a couple of fantastic greenhouses, crammed full of cacti and succulents, things like ariocarpus, loads of other cact, also echeverias, aeoniums, haworthias, aloes, gasteria's, agaves's and a load of other stuff i forgot.........
There really are some beautiful specimens, and a lovely couple that run the show........
will put pics when i get them done of what i bought this afternoon, which i am chuffed with, but thought i ould just mention the sellar in case people dont know about them
regards phil

worth a long slow meandering visit then? hell yeah - there's plenty to go at tonnes of cacti, and quite a lot of haworthia's, aloes etc, not as many echeveria's/aeoniums, but still a decent selection to go at, some agaves, including some cracking specimens that John has had for 30+ years, and then there are other plants i aint got a clue what they were, aswell as others well worth a trip - i shall be beck in the near future

 Re: Croston Cactus
I haven't been to Croston yet but met John at the North West Cactus mart in May and came away with a high elevation Echinocereus Triglochidiatus propogated from material he collected himself 5 years ago among other things. I must go and visit his nursery sometime.

 Re: Croston Cactus
Whilst I was out on Thursday, came across an Echeveria 'mauna loa', it was described as crinkle-edged, 30cm, with warty growths occurring on top of mature leaves. 'A crassulaceae to caress'. A quirky plant which I quickly put into my basket. No warty growths yet though.
