I have just received an e-mail from Dave's garden the weekly letter and it shows a Aloe castanea common name - Cats Tail. This is absolutely stunning! it can grow up to 3 meters tall (10ft)! and is hardy to -3.8c. Has anybody grown this before and if you have what results have you had so far in terms of flowering and height? also has it been hardier than -3.8c?
This is certainly one for my list I love it!!

An Aloe hardy to -3.8, well a nice plant for Southern Europe. No chance here though!

Depends on the protection! With a double-glazed, heated greenhouse, no problem.
