Agave americana var media picta alba

Post by medjool »

Hi Dave
Just been offered two varigated agave plants in pots,at least 25 yrs old ,one has a central light coloured stripe and is smaller the other is the normal varigated type and is quite large.
The question here is would it be worth paying £90 each for these stunning plants and how long would it be until they flowered in the uk?

Hi Medjool,

Is the centre stripe virtually white?

Agaves are monocarpic so after they flower they die.

I also mean't to say that, last thing i'd want for my large agave is to flower

The conditions the plant has been kept in will also influence when and if it flowers.
