Will Bamboo push through weed suppressor?

Will Bamboo push through weed suppressor?

I ask because most of my garden is covered with weed suppressor then a layer of slate chippings. Would Vivax and Nigra bamboo be able to push through this or do I need to clear out the area where I want them to spread?

i've seen sasa bamboo push through weed supressing membrane.not sure on other species, maybe its best to remove the membrane where you want it to grow.
bamboos,ferns,palms,yuccas,grasses,bananas,acers and fruit trees.living with zonal denial.zone 8 apparently.

If Bamboo can do this then I doubt weed membrane will stop it:

Once upon a time there were 3 little bears. Now there's thousands of them.

I have to lift a load of concrete blocks today, as Sasa Palmata has pushed them out of the way. I thought I had got rid of it, but there must have been a piece still in the ground when I put the blocks down.
Best regards
Dave

Good excuse for a ride on mower purchase

I don't suppose a small piece could be put in the post could it please? I'd be more than happy to cover all costs etc if so :D
