I must be the ultimate chicken, mine is in the conservatory drying out where I can see it and enjoy it.
And look where I live!

Steph, was it planted out, or already in a pot? Call it planning ahead if dug up

Started a new one this year which is small enough still to be whipped into the greenhouse if early frosts appear but the intention is to keep this outside as late as possible. By the end of the year it will be housed and kept active at my local school where it will overwinter in their unheated atrium.

My older one (kept potted for three years) was donated to the school earlier this year. It's going to be dug up complete before the October half-term and kept in a tub under a large polycarbonate covered awning for the winter. It should remain just frost-free as long as we don't repeat the -7c of last February. It will be kept bone dry. Bit of an experiment, this icon_study

i can never remember,
can this one take a light frost and then be brought in or does it need bringing in before any frosts?

in my "how to"video I suggest early october to give enough nice days to dry them out BUT you can wait for the first frost then bring indoors to quickly dry then out. No problem bringing them in now, they will survive but there will be an empty space in your garden.
