Ensete in Heat
Ensete in Heat
Just had to drown and move it, its almost keeling over, I did put it in the hottest place.
Is it too hot at the minute?
Do I keep it in the shade?
It was in full sun and its in a pot.
Thanks!

Re: Ensete in Heat
I had mine planted in the hottest place in the garden last year but you must throw a bucket of water at it every day, unless it rains of course.

They grow a few in Ethiopia. I know maurelii grow at a higher altitude, but I'm sure they have 30c something temperatures. Somehow I get the feeling they can deal with heat.

I do water it daily, it seemed better after dinner, less stressed.

Another thread which gave me a 'double take'. I thought you were talking about Ensetes getting too frisky with Musas

Re: Ensete in Heat
Its not the direct sun thats the problem its the pot!! If you hd it directly in the garden in full sun it would be fine. I suggest whilst its in the pot put it in semi shadekata wrote:Just had to drown and move it, its almost keeling over, I did put it in the hottest place.

Re: Ensete in Heat
Have you planted it in Muck Purpose Comnpost ? It tends to be too stodgy for most plants. Not enough air gets to the roots.
Best regards
