I’m interested to hear more about M. Sanguinea… because it’s a very rare plant in cultivation and not very much is known about it, has it flowered for you, do you grow it under glass or in the garden and how do you over winter it!

Hi Tony,

a friend gave me begin this year a nice size bulb and seeds, thid is the first year i have de musa sanguinea, didnt by me.. ihope about 2 years icon_thumright

But its a coldhardy type, 0° allow for him icon_cheers
I think little same as musa manni.

Hi Gilian, the Sanguinea is looking good icon_thumleft can you tell me were the plant/seeds were collected… was it Assam!

I will send you pics of the orange and zaifui after the weekend, I’ve just moved house and I’m very busy at the moment.

The seeds were collected at the University of Gent, Belgium.
Where that plant originated I don't know.

Apologies for the delay, I’m very busy with the house at the mo.
I have posted your nanas today… M.orange and zaifui I’ve also sent you a small M.rubinia to add to your collection, a very rare nana.
Hopefully they will be with you next week :) I will pm you my address

My rubinea came from Mark Hall several years ago and his original plant came from Nature products

it’s an easy nana to grow… pups well and is reasonably cold tolerant I’ve had a corm survive -5c and re-grow again, but every time I get this plant to flowering size it dies before flowering… not sure why that is icon_scratch
