musa siam ruby

A banana plant which gets redder with a lot of light and heat.I have had this banana for three years now. I use it as a summer bedding plant and over winter it in my front room.I remember tog tan saying no one has ever seen this plant fruit in it native habitat.

I wont be bothering with siam ruby again its one of the poorest nanas for UK conditions,the problem i had with this nana is it does not like dry soil which makes overwintering it less than 14c impossible,i lost mine in february 2010 even thought it was a large nana.A banana that is only suitable for sub and tropical climates,it also hates cool summers.I also had a lot problem with Red Spider Mite on this nana.
