NEW Palm growth this Summer

New palm growth this summer so far ( Growth only really kicked into gear about 1-month ago ) - hopefully we get a hot one.

Brahea edulis - First leaf to open this summer

Butia capitata

Dypsis decipiens - Spear has grown over 7" so far this early in the summer.
This palm has been planted out now for 1-year acclimatising & putting roots down.

Parajubaea torallyi var. torallyi - This young palms first summer in the ground and spear growing fast.
This palm has been planted out now for 9.5 months.

Phoenix loureirii

Sabal palmetto - Nearly 4" of growth on this spear so far

Syagrus romanzoffiana - Syagrus spear is growing quickly this year.
This palm has been planted out now for 1.5 years.

Washingtonia robusta - Already onto its 5th spear :lol:

lucky you Rod,first new spears on my palms have brown rings on these days.

Hi Redsquirrel - What do you mean by brown rings ?

Hi Alan - The Washingtonia was the first palm i planted, and it took two seasons before it got going.
Its now growing quickly.

cold damage mate. fingers crossed with a little more care from me this year,my plants will look better next year.
one palm of note for me this year with all the rain has been my Rhapidophyllum hystrix .
2 new good looking leaves on each trunk this year. icon_thumleft icon_thumleft
