hi
I have some seedlings turning up soon, they are beautiful palms, and can spend some summer months outside (i've read the other threads on varying degrees of success in growing these outdoors in the uk)
anyway, my questions is, I have some John Innes no 3 and some perlite, that should be all i need to plant the seedlings? I'll keep them in pots for some years yet. What mixture should i use?
Thanks for reading

That should be fine, they are not that fussy as regards to soil type in my experience, they are very thirsty palms though (they often grow wild on the banks of rivers) so don't let them dry out & give them lots of water during the summer months icon_thumleft

thanks for the reply. I guess in that case the perlite isn't really neccessary.
