Trachycarpus takil in the wild in India.

Hey to all,

I tried to place some nice pictures of Trachycarpus takil in the wild. I have been there the end of last April. So for those whom are curious have a look at the growingontheedge.net forum.

Sorry for that, I would liked to have placed them here as well, but the size was to big..

I suggest creating an account at www.flickr.com (Photo album & sharing site owned by Yahoo) You can create albums and keep your photos nice and tidy. You can also use it to host images and embed them on forums. That way, you're not limited in terms of file size of resolution size when you go to post the pics on the forums which you use. + You only ever have to upload them once.

By the looks of it Alex has already posted them on an image hosting website.

If you look closely at this picture you can see some sprouting Hedychiums at the left side of the palm and a flowering Duetzia in frond. Maybe D. staminea.

Well gives an idear what kind of plants you can plant among your Trachycarpi.

For those whom want to know more about Munsiyari, the climate, how to get there and what of more things you can see there besides the palms its best to contact Narendra Kumar. He lives in Munsiyari and thanks to him I have seen the palms.
