Palm Collectors, what have you got?

ive also got some baby date palms and a cycas but they dont really count as palms do they

The date Palms do Call, the Cycas don't as they're not Palms

This is my somewhat diminished collection. A few such as the Dypsis and Chamaedorea metallica are indoor palms only although Dypsis arenarum is growing so tall and fast that I'll struggle to accommodate it in a couple of years. Of the others, some are replacement young plants after the winters of 2009/10, others are completely new acquisitions and the rest are 'old timers'.

The x Butiagrus is a very recent addition, bought from Nigel Kembrey who hybridised them himself. The Dypsis is disappointingly slow due to lack of serious summer heat. It periodically turns yellow, but recovers after a strong dose of Magnesium sulphate. I really should get rid of it and concentrate on things that do well. The Para is OK and seems to be gradually speeding up.
