Palm Collectors, what have you got?
Re: Palm Collectors, what have you got?
Don't have a lot of palms
4 x trachycarpus fortunei, various size, adult leaves, not quite a trunk
1 x chamaerops
1 x phoenix canariensis (bedding plant)
4 x adonidia seedlings
5 x wodyetia seedlings
a host of various seedlings from darren, originating in southampton
Forgot about the pot of washys, can't say I'm that keen on them. If they were the size of Dave B's one that would be a different matter...maybe

Re: Palm Collectors, what have you got?
I was reading a site last week that said in the future Trachicarpus f will be left behind for hardiness in favor of waggie x fortuneis.
I am not sure if to buy the Tf now or the a Trachi waggie.
Nice looking palms there RedS!!

Re: Palm Collectors, what have you got?
Thanks RedS
Do you think we will get more frost RedS? I am waiting to order another 9 year old from Michael.
This has come through winter in Lancashire just great and my ordering another was always dependant on my first being still here come Easter.

Re: Palm Collectors, what have you got?
I haven't moved far from the palm seed collectors category yet.
So with that in mind these are definitely all seedlings, mostly still with strap leaves:
Trachycarpus Fortunei
Washingtonia Robusta
Phoenix Dactylifera
Dypsis Lutescens
Chameadora Elegans
Ptychosperma Nicolai
Ptychosperma Lauterbachii
Syagrus Romanizoffiana
Wodetia Bifurcata
Beccariopheonix Alfredii (well, it's grown half an inch of root)
Plus a handful of unsprouted species, a B&Q Phoenix canariensis_CIDP and a Butia eriospatha from Amulree.
I expect there are several spelling mistakes there.

Re: Palm Collectors, what have you got?
Revisting almost a year later....Simba wrote:Very limited collection for me owing to a lack of space...
Trachycarpus Fortunei - x5 of various sizes
Trachycarpus Wagnerianus - x3 of various sizes
Trachycarpus Naini Tal
Trachycarpus Latisectus
Jubaea Chilensis
Washingtonia
Do have a couple more on the wanted list though:
Chamaerops Cerifera
Trithrinax Campestris
Trachycarpus Princeps
Trachycarpus Fortunei - x4 of various sizes (2x4ft & 2x3ft trunks)
Trachycarpus Wagnerianus - x3 of various sizes (3ft, 2ft 1ft trunks)
Trachycarpus Naini Tal
Trachycarpus Latisectus
Trachycarpus Princeps
Chamaerops Cerifera - x2

Trithrinax Campestris
Rhapidiophyllum Hystrix
Tempted to get a bigger Cerifera, but no more space after that....

Re: Palm Collectors, what have you got?
Some of you really have a big garden!
I've got 4 Washingtonia, 1 Trachycarpus F, 2 Phoenix canariensis_CIDP in a pot and a green cordyline. Would really like to have more but don't have enough space.
