Giant Grass Tree and Alpine Bottlebrush, any one.
Any one growing Richea Pandanifol or Callistemon Pityoides? If so are they easy or hard, what temperatures will they stand. Any advice or comments gladly received. Thanks
Re: Giant Grass Tree and Alpine Bottlebrush, any one.
I have experience with Callistemon when I lived in South Africa, and had 3 in my garden in Johannesburg
they thrived on the highlands, where we had hot summer, andsummer rainfall with cold dry winters
I moved to the East Coast (tropical), and I never ever saw one there (humid, hot, summer rainfall and very mild winters)
In the Cape, which has winter rainfall, and cold winters, they suffered and people never planted them ... so, I 'think' they dont like cold wet
but saying that, I have seen some (yellow and red) at some garden centres in my area (Cambridge)
