 Re: Your daily weather blog
Reached a Max 24.5C with lowest humidity 43%. Cloudy at times but clouded over generally mid afternoon. Strong breeze from SSW this evening made it fell chilly...... but of course I don't know what chilly is as still warmer than some places got to, max. Currently 19.5C with 62% hum. winds dropping. Been watering for last 3 hours. The low humidity and wind has really desicated things.

Dave Brown wrote: stephenprudence wrote: hmmmm! If you got those average from the BBC website Dave then I feel I must correct this... those figures are wrong for London. There is no way London shares the same average minimum with Birmingham in January - see the flaw? Those figures are simply incorrect.
The old average London was 22C (1961-1990), however the latest averages (which will be used by 2015 I think) indicate London average daytime temperature between 1980-2010 is around 23-24C (23.?C).
It is the Met Office LTA for Greenwich 1971 -2000. As with all official weatherstations they have been closed or moved so I don't know realistically what they will use for 1981 -2010, as No weatherstations have been recording continusously over that period. I assumed it was linked to mis-information about global warming. As no weatherstations had been recording contonuously over the period no-one could disprove/dispute what we were being fed. The weather centre use their own station (code: LWC) as the data feed for 1981-2010. The figures won't be available to the public until say 2015, but I saw a snippet on London, which is the benefit of being on a weather forum too. Even 1C difference between an average maximum temperature between two places are quite a large difference. The 2-3C difference between my average and London average is very large margin, especially when it comes down to overall averages. Arguably comparing my average against Londons is bad form, as my averages are from a different time scale as Londons. Anyway as for the weather today, it has turned drizzly and misty this evening but feeling a fair bit warmer due to the humidity once again touching 100%

 Re: Your daily weather blog
They keep forecasting a very warm and humid night here, but so far it feels chilly. Currently 18.8C but with a brisk breeze. All big windows are now shutdown

 Re: Your daily weather blog
Because the heavy thunderstorms few days ago, I don't need to give water now for a few days. Thanks mother nature! Good thing the rain was falling during the late evening and nights and sunny days. Reached to 24.4C today in the garden after a night not cooler then 15.4C. At the moment it's 18.1C and clear. Robbin

 Re: Your daily weather blog
I was under the impression that the LTA (1971-2000) max temp for London in July was around 24C, there are maps you can view on the Met Office website... Today was mostly cloudy with sunny spells, feeling muggy & it tried to rain this afternoon, but nothing more than spits & spots came from it & it lasted about 30 seconds... Due some rain overnight though... apparently Today's high: 22.9C Current temp.: 18.0C Humidity: 87% Pressure: 1013.6 mb Wind: S 2.5 km/h Rainfall today: 0.0 mm (Trace)

Absolutely the opposite here. Ground very dry and parched. Sounds like walking on corn flakes. Coolest day this month, 25°C but most have been in the upper 20's to low 30's. A heat wave earlier in July saw temps in the upper 30's (near 100°F) here. Cheers, Barrie.

 Re: Your daily weather blog
Barrie, do you get the same massive contrasts on Vancouver Island , which is very similar position wise to the UK, with the South and East influenced by continent and North and West by the Ocean. Awoke to a slightly damp ground, no more than a heavy dew, so think it has drizzled, but not enough to be measured. Funny I had the impression it has not rained for weeks, but we actually had 1mm on 16th July, just 15 days ago. It must be that the amount was so small watering continued as usual. Low overnight was 17.4C with 82% humidity, but to me personally did not feel warm Have I become tropicised I must admit with the constant threat of rain over the last week, but not actually had any, I have worked from the conservatory in temps as high as 31 to 38C. So currently, to me, feels like water will freeze at about 15C Currently just above freezing here Cloudy, but thining, allowing the outline of the sun to be seen. 22.4C 73% RH 15km/h NW breeze 1008.4 hPa steady

Breezy and light showers and a temp of 16C.
Really annoying weather as I wanted to give the car a good clean and polish and also take some photos of the garden, grrrr!

 Re: Your daily weather blog
19C peak and humidity down to 64% Now rain showers blowing into the North West to drop the temp; raise the humidity and raise Katas blood pressure

 Re: Your daily weather blog
Today the temperature was 18.8 cool in the breeze, sunny for 10 mins. I spotted mushrooms in numeroud gardens today which is usually something which doesn't occur until November, this is definitely the earliest I've seen them For here anyway Autumn has arrived early.

Last night's low: 16.6C Today's high: 24.6C Current temp.: 18.2C Humidity: 79% Pressure: 1013.3 mb Wind: N 2.5 km/h Rainfall 24hr: 8.1 mm

 Re: Your daily weather blog
At least you got a shower Nathan Seems it may just be the North Kent coast that is missing out on rain, apart from Barrie of course. Using your template Current time 22:18 Last night's low: 17.4C Today's high: 26.4C Current temp.: 19.4C Humidity: Max 82%, Min 45%, Current 56% Pressure: hPa Max 1010.0, Low 1007.3, Current 1009.4 Rising Wind: k/hr Max gust 52.8,WSW ave windspeed 15.5, current 0.0 ( Calm) Rainfall 24hr: 0.0 mm
