Usually when its low wind, sunny and clear skies BBC weather gives me 1014 -1019 upwards on the pressure stat.
How can the forcast be so good for the next few days with only 1004 pressure some days?

Good weather and low pressure confusion?
Re: Good weather and low pressure confusion?
It's the direction of the air flow which is south westerly dragging up warmer air from the continent.
Most wanted list - Any Young Trachycarpus and/or fern.
Re: Good weather and low pressure confusion?
It depends largely on what type of system it's in.. if it is 1004mB influenced by a blocking system it will be dry, however if it is 1004mB influence by an Atlantic trough it will most likely be wet.
1004mB IS low pressure technically, but even low pressure doesn't always result in rain, especially if the low pressure is slack (not deep)

It depends on the position of the 'centre' of the low - if you are to the south-east of the low centre (in the northern hemisphere), the circulation around the low will drag up warm humid air from the south or south west, whatever the pressure. In the summer half of the year, the sun can often burn off any cloud associated with that airflow, and produce a warm day.
Happened here last Friday here on the IoW as the remains of Hurricane Katya approached the UK - the pressure here was about 1005mb, but the sun was out and the temperature was approaching 25C with 80% humidity!
