Basically if the last three months finish above average, we could have 2011 as the warmest year on record.. largely thanks to a way above average February and April.

AHS Heat Zone: 1
Last 5 winter minimums:
2007: -0.1C, 2008: -4.2C, 2009: -5.7C, 2010: -10.5 (record), 2011: -4.9C, 2012: -5.3, 2013: -4.5C (so far)

Warmest year on record preceeded by one of the coldest on record. :? Sounds like a continental climate.

As for a "very cold winter forecast for 2011 - 2012 ... who's to know for sure. Wait 6 months and comment then.
