Indeed, although at the time it looked odds on that Gravesend would see 30C..

But tomorrow it looks like the area could beat the record again - which would mean 30C.

The previous record value was reported at March in Cambridgeshire on 1st October 1985.

But that's March not October!

26.1c max here today. Thats a new record for Manchester anyway!

Thought it would go a little higher but it budged up and down by just 0.2c for over 2 hours, so it just couldn't get any higher

after 26.4c yesterday

PS realised my solar fan hasn't been working for weeks since the wind caused a wire to dislodge, which just goes to show at this time of year cos the sun was not high enough to hit the stevensons screen that it didn't make any difference thankfully as the siting and other measures maintained accuracy (an obsession I know but I like to know my records are bl&&dy accurate)

I fixed it early today and in the beautiful blue skies it was whizzing its little head off:D
