Re: Daily Mail predicting -15 within the next few weeks
A month ago they predicted this for the end of October. At some point in winter it will turn cold but not a news story until it does.
Re: Daily Mail predicting -15 within the next few weeks
Weather headlines sell newspapers. Since the Met stopped issuing long range forecasts lots of new weather forecasting companies have filled the void. The credibility of these forecasts is questionable. E.G. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/276 ... it-Britain
A less hysterical perspective from the Beeb:

These stories seem to be based on the Arctic Dipole Anomoly a new weather pattern identified in 2007 and which brought the cold winters ,see other thread.
It is likely to appear mid to end november if it happens which I guess is why they are linking the cold to this time frame.
No doubt it sells a lot of newspapers, and it does have some scientific basis so they can say its not a hack story.

I see on a friends status on facebook that apparently come mid november the whole of the UK will have snow with once again the freezing temps. Personally i think it is a load of tosh. As for daily mail, Never go by a newspaper forecast. EVER! They make up false stories in the papers a lot of the time and no doubt do the smame with the weather.
Re: Daily Mail predicting -15 within the next few weeks
I wouldn't wipe my bum with the Daily Mail let alone trust one of their weather forecasts!

Hahaha thats a good one..... newspapers are all fit for the same thing regardless of which one it is.stephenprudence wrote:I don't agree Adam, I say fight sh*t with sh*t.

Well in a few weeks it will be December & no doubt there is a chance it could get that cold at the top of a Scottish mountain...

The daily express is also carrying the same story on the front page.
they say -15c is expected from mid november onwards?.
I don,t know where this -15c is supposed to happen but i don,t think it will be Southampton.
Lets see what happens but i have got the plant protection ready just in case.

If it reaches -15C in Southampton then we are all doomed Billbilldango wrote:The daily express is also carrying the same story on the front page.

It'll get well below -15° in Southampton Island. That's probably where they mean
