1.0C here now, no frost as yet because the dewpoint isn't 0C but frost will start forming immediately. Amazing how the northwest wind just hasn't materialised, when it was looking odds on.

Thats what I thought earlier on Tom, but at the moment the cloud is streaming well to the west, so it's Wales that is getting the cloud, and it will probably remain so for the rest of the night, however there is a small chance we could get the odd shower, but it will be of snow.

Despite a cloud cover rolling in last night, a first frost for me this morning and just over -1. Took the chance yesterday to trim things back or cut just about everything back to ground level , rudbekia , geraniums, erysimum's etc etc. Loads of new fresh growth on the bottom's , so not worth hanging on to this seasons growth for colour. Crocosmia new growth up about a foot already.
Supposed to be getting a lot milder here this week as are most places i think, as much as 12deg here by wednesday, at night.
Thats what we want icon_thumleft

Slightly longer shorts as well Arlon?

Cordy, yes so far this is a good winter for us lot and our plants. Nights start getting shorter as of 22nd and IF we can get through Jan with similar weather we would be on the home straight to spring as although we could still have cold weather the daytime temps would be less likely to stay too cold......hopefully

An ice day here! (not a nice day!)

Barely rose above zero and the grass remained frozen where the sun's rays didn't get to.

At 4pm it was back to zero! At 6pm it was -1!

Apparently getting milder this week though. Bring it on! My Mrs isn't happy as she wants a white xmas!
