Hi Adrian I didn't see your welcome, cheers!. Looking at some of pics of people gardens in and about Southampton a meet sounds good! Another question what are the local garden centres like around here? Are there any specialist nurseries near by?

No mate not really, Architectural Plants in Chichester/Bognor is about the closest but if you can drive we do the south Midlands tour of CGF (Cotswold Garden Flowers), Vale Exotics and Akamba several times a year.

Thanks Bob! Yes I know Architectural Plants, my friend went to school 2 minutes away so I can always pop in on a visit although Ive never been to date. I remember their long catalogues and band A band B pricing, which when you phoned up (not to mention being a teenager) to ask about plant prices, would invariably equal a small fortune. Was it just me then or is it still very expensive?

from what ive heard you get what you pay for James. i,e, a tad pricey but good quality with it
havent been myself but always support these places if in the area as they are the ones who get the real stuff in,not just the more common fast moving ranges

Yes very expensive on most things but as Darren said, you get top class gear.
