Hello everyone ,thanks for the warm welcome.Sorry about the delay in responding,i work in construction and am working away from home this week.My garden is on a fairly steep slope, facing south which is ideal for most of my plants,i particulary like tree ferns though ,i am finding it tricky to provide any shade for them,i need some of my palms to grow a bit taller.I have started off planting out, fairly safely so far,eg butia cap, brahea armata, trachycarpus waggy and Phoenix canariensis_CIDP.After seeing Daves success with washingtonia,i have been inspired to try some riskier palms eg,parajubaea ,nikau palms and washy filibusta, with a view to planting in the ground when i'm feeling brave!I can get a lot of free insulating materials from building site skips icon_cheers so may be able to provide good winter protection for some my borderline palms when they are a bit bigger.Photos to follow when i get chance.
