Jubaea chilensis or Phoenix canariensis

In your opinion what do you think looks the nicest and is the hardiest ?

Jubaea chilensis is hardier, but I think both look as nice as each other...

Jubaea are far slower growing though & because of this are much more expensive...

You don't need an opinion on hardiness. I think we can safely say it is fact that Jubaea is hardier.

When large, they can be difficult to tell appart without a close look at the leaves. The main choice is between a hardy but expensive and slow growing palm or a tender but cheap and fast growing palm.

Yes, I was going to clarify that statement as "large but trunkless" as I know the trunks are different but you don't see many trunked specimens to compare them. When small they seem to have a different habit but that may be because the mass produced CIDPs are forced and streched. The main difference is that on Phoenix canariensis_CIDP the leaflets are V shaped but on Jubaea they are inverted ^.
