Cordyline dracaenoides

Post by MikeC »

Just found this on t'internet.

Anyone know anything about it? What it looks like, hardiness etc? It's a native of Brazil and Paraguay, found a few for sale. Look interesting.

I foolishly thought all Cordys were from NZ.

That's what I thought, absolutely identical, but half way round the world apart?

Just wondered if they were more or less hardy I suppose.

I have a small one, it came through winter 2010/2011 ok. As a small plant it resembles a Yucca more than a Cordyline, though when older they do look similar to Cordyline australis, though with wider leaves. They are hardy to around -5C apparently.
