Germination Solution.

Post by sherree »

I have just had 4 types of musa seeds arrive and they came with some saltpeter powder. My question is has anyone one here used this solution to aid germination.

I hadn't actually heard it used, so I googled it! Its apparently used to help soften the hard seed coating. I just normally soak for longer hard seeds, so it will be very interesting to hear your results

Well Dave the solution can be used to make the fuse to ignite the gunpowder.

Hi flounder i will let you know how things go when we use it. Last time we used the soaking method and had just over 10% germination rate.
