Deformed maurelii

Post by Ste »

Bought 2 maurelii's a couple of weeks ago as they were not a bad size for a fiver each. They have just been stuck down the bottom of the garden and forgotton about but I was having a nosey about before and I noticed appearing from one of the new leaves was 2 new rollers side by side. I thought it was strange as i'd never seen that before. It wasn't until an hour later when I went for another look and noticed one of the older leaves was actually 2 leaves. It had one stalk/stem thing but about half way up it split into 2 icon_scratch Is this common or do I have some sort of siamese maurelii?

I would have thought a bit late for strangles. My green ventricosum had it last year. Started in April and went on until July. I had to manually keep splitting the stems, then grew out of it. Been fine since

They can happen at any time during growth Dave not just in the Spring.

Somewhere I'll have pictures to show what they are like but can I find them ?

I dont think its the strangles as ive seen that before. Theres 2 rollers that are coming out/have came out at the same time, both have their red midrib thing but further down towards the plant the midribs join and become one icon_scratch

Looks like a fascination or related disorder.
