Beautiful silver-blue palm, related to the chamaerops i believe, but it won't tolerate our cold wet winters

I had a small one but like the others said with theirs......It died

I'm killing one as I type! Had it in the propagator all last winter and it looked good. Put it in a nice south facing window in the kitchen were all other palms have rocketed away. The tips of the leaves started to turn brown  a sure sign of imminent doom. icon_scratch Brown bits slowly increasing faster than the green bits from the middle. icon_thumbdown I put it back in the propagator three days ago. If I had any blotty brains I would put it in the bin. icon_salut You just know when you are wasting your time. icon_study icon_thumright

Any ideas why they die? Even coconuts put out a leaf or 2 before dieing.

Any pics of the 12 ft plant. 180lt pots sounds abit small for a 12 ft plant.
