Here is the Met office 5 day pressure map, showing the low pressure. It seems to come up from Biscay, and then start to almost rotate around itself. Maybe Nadine likes dictating where she goes, and it not going to fit in with any jet stream :ahhh!:

Well the time is 9-25 the rain has just started down here, The weather station is showing the wind speed is increasing and the pressure is dropping slowly so this must be the start of things.

09:45 - no rain here yet, but the sky is darkening and wind strengthening as the pressure falls. Had the worst of both worlds as was clear and still allowing temps to drop further than forecast.

Wind definitely strengthening while I've been writing this. Now up to 17mph gusts from calm at 07:15. Pressure gradient steepened sharply after 09:15.

First spots of rain just before 10am. At times it was almost torrential pm. 12.1c at 10.00, 10.2c at 16.45 with gusts over 30km/hr. Rainfall so far 11.0mm.

Interesting aside - This storm over the UK has been spawned by Ex-hurricane Nadine but the remnants of the original storm are now affecting the Canary Islands. Friends report that thunderstorms this afternoon have ended a drought that started in January 2011.

Went shopping at about 1:30pm and roads were flooded in all the places prone to flooding and water gushing up out of manhole covers down near the river. Temp fell to 9.9C and had 19.05mm since 10:30. It eased off for a while about 4:30pm, but has started with a vengeance again now. High gust and wind speed 30 mph.
