i have three sikkimensis in my cellar for the winter but they are still growing, been there for weeks by now too.

obviously if they keep growing in the dark they will exhaust themselves and rot the corms.

how can i get them to slow right down?

I put mine in the freezer! Stops them stone dead.

Musa don't really go dormant like ensetes do.

Musa just slow down in growth when the temp drops.

You can overwinter a dry rhizome on some Musa, but not all, but if it is too warm it will try to grow.

Drought initiates domancy in Ensete, cold initiates dormancy,in Musa, for those that can do it.

Dave, how cold is cold to stop a Musa.

That depends on the species but it will be somewhere in between the min. temp. for growth and the max. temp. for death.

5 degrees C is probably a safe bet.

As said it will depend on the species, and some like dwarf cav and Siam Ruby will just die.

It will need specific questions, not just Musa. Same as palms they are all different
