Your garden is coming along nicely Dorothy.

The big leaved stuff like the Ensete really do add a tropical feel to a garden :)

Thank you for your lovely comment guys :D The ensettes have definitely made a big difference this year. I have two green ones in pots this year and they will go into the garden next year because they are two big now.
.Because of the way my garden is set out, I cannot take an overall picture of the garden like most of you. even from upstairs this is impossible! I have spent a fair amount of money this year getting it the way I want and am really happy with it. One thing I have noticed though is that some of the plants are a bit crowded together...they grew bigger than expected lol. Because of that, I find in some instances, that you cannot see each plant properly, and therefore appreciate how much they have grown.
Only downside to the garden is that because there is so much foilage, my four cats have taken a liking to hiding inside, and have therefore caught quite a few birds off guard :(

Very smart garden Dorothy. As a matter of fact I was thinking that the plants stand out very nicely because of the mixture of colours and forms.

great looking Ensetes Dorothy!

My leaves are quite big but its not as tall as yours, did you have a head start with some height? I am hoping by bringing mine in I have the height next season.

Great!

Hi thanks again for your comments.
Kata, some of them are three year plants and are over 7ft. I have two in pots which I brought end of last year and they have done really well also. I'm not buying any more now.I only have 7 but that is enough for my garden because of the room.I also have 5 musa but they have not done very well this year.I think they were slow to get going and the other plants drowned them as they grew. I'll dig them up later in the year and see if I can get them bigger for next year. :D
