Thanks - was intereing to read. Rubbish pic of the Fatsia polycarpa as it looks yellow and quite like a bog standard japonica.

Interesting article. Just a shame the plants are so expensive.
Re: Telegraph Article on Crug Farms top 12 plant introductio
How is Crug pronounced? I always thought it was Krug (rhymes with mug) but have heard it pronounced very differently.

Cr-ee-g apparently.

mostly the plants are quite nicely priced for the size of plants you get.
out of the online retailers I think crug provide the most 'quality' plants but the delivery cost is a real bummer for me.

Ah, thanks - do I have to do some sort of throat cleaning noise for the ee?Adam D wrote:Cr-ee-g apparently.
Totally agree. I would spend good money with them if P&P was not very high.Mr List wrote:mostly the plants are quite nicely priced for the size of plants you get.

Yes expensive is an understatement! I ordered a schefflera alpina from them last week 5ft tall in the pot for £65.... Cost me another £35 (quoted £25 at checkout) for delivery which I didn't realise until I opened the receipt on the box when it got here!!
It was less than 24 hours from placing order to it being on my doorstep though so you can't grumble at the speed of delivery. I tried to add something to be delivered in the same box to make the delivery charge more worthwhile but I was too late.
Great article though so thanks for posting!

My point exactly. How much does it cost to buy one each of the top 12 plants altogether?
Re: Telegraph Article on Crug Farms top 12 plant introductio
Crug has accentation over the u, so it is indeed prolonged Creeeg, rather than short Crig. (and with a rolled r too)
I can't remember whether it's technically in Caernarfon or Y Felinheli
anyhow, yes it seems very expensive.
The throat clearing noise only applies to the letter Ch (as in Loch).. I naturally do this, so it's no biggie to me.. though imagine its quite annoying to try without irritating the throat to people who don't naturally express this.

Worth a visit if ever in North Wales. The drive from Anglesey went through some stunning countryside.
