mostly the plants are quite nicely priced for the size of plants you get.
out of the online retailers I think crug provide the most 'quality' plants but the delivery cost is a real bummer for me.

Couldn't agree more, getting interactive with the garden by brushing through exotic flora is my idea of what a jungle garden is all about. it is great when slowly looking round on a sunny day not so much when walking back and forth with heavy bags of shopping in the rain, lol. plus it really messes...

little worried that the paths will be too thin depending on how crowded the beds get.
my garden path is too small for all the plants growing around it and it is wider than 60cm

will giles garden has paths about 2m wide from pictures in his book

Not really, no! Long, slender needles go together with warm, humid climates, which go together with vigour and large mature size. Though I'd not say that Pinus strobus has very long needles, only around 8-10 cm; some others like Pinus wallichiana have needles up to 15-20 cm. If 10 cm is long enough...

if you noticed in my pictures and videos the bottom half/fruit part of my garden is a gravelled area and while I like it for that area I don't like it for places where is doesn't need to be gravel
