Re: Arlons Blog: Propagating Cycas revoluta "aurea" ..SUCCES

now if all 4 come out "auroras" im gunna need the name of that seed man... looks wonderful. I have tried regular sagos that have made seed here in KY with no luck so a hybrid must be a bit harder. Even 4 of 10 is a great success in my book..Keep us updated.

Re: Miketropics blog -- Spring is FINALLY here

Its a very thin line though Kris..it warms like this over night..but temps can fall like that over night as well. we had 2 very hard frost Sunday and Monday morning around 0c..then 21c that same day...

Re: After the Polar Vortices in NJ

I live in the Ohio Valley and we got it pretty good. I think my lowest temp was -15F (-26c) and a few other nights around -12F. I lost a WHOLE lot of things that were left out. Some to the cold and some to the rot that set in after the massive amount of snow. I hope to never see another winter like ...

Re: Miketropics blog -- Spring is FINALLY here

A bit of hope after the horrible winter here in the midwest. Temps are around 21 c for the next week and the sun was out all day. Took a few things out from under the house, arundo , sedums, cactus, and potted them up. checked all my pots and have pips showing on 90% of the hostas. These hosta were ...

Re: Robusta Campbell - snapping culms breaks my heart :- (

Any way you an tie the new shoots to some distant canes and get it to hold? I knew a guy who used pluming pipe over them to train them in the direction he wanted..it was some kind of garden art deal but the same principle applys with the training..

Re: Robusta Campbell - snapping culms breaks my heart :- (

I have taken culms that were new like that and bent or trained them to go a certain way. is there any way you can pull them back from under that stone and let them grow? even tied with string to keep them back until there hardened off and will stay where you want them 2

Re: pine trees

I am looking for a variegated white pine which only gets to about 4m in 10 years..white pines grow fast but with your climate I would take off at l...
