one year on the farm we didnt clear the muck fast enough and the mice were everywhere! it was so bad that at times we couldnt see the floor of walk through them! ive never seen anything like it. we dont poison them at clear out time so there was a killing spree by the local predators which was great...

do people have a favourite plant in the garden that gets pampered more than all the rest? i hope im not the only one! That would make me crazy . For me its my drosophllum as it was the first non edible plant ive ever grown

thanks for the info nigel. is yours in flower atm? the one i bought is covered in flower buds. what will happen if i get a frost? will it kill the flowers?

i bought an acacia dealbata on a bit of a whim yesterday from the local gc. anyone else grow there? if so how many degrees of frost do they take? do they need pruning? and are they self fertile?

ive been growing darlingtonia for a few years now but they do take years to get to an impressive size. i have some 3 year olds that are about an inch tall :( i got frustrated and just bought a few plants but lost the lot last summer! it was just to hot for them! If you wanted to go in a different direction its hard to come by hardy aquatic species of utricularia and red forms of aldrovanda. also cephalotus is very easy to propagate but people can charge a hell of a lot for them, i dont really understand that

im trying to find fast growing plants from seed to add a bit of height to the garden. im poor so trying to keep costs down by growing as much as a i can from seed but also want a good looking garden quickly. Not even sure if thats possible
