Welcome Nige
Been a bit frantically busy for me, of late. Building work running late. now my daughter has bought a flat, so will be helping to decorate that, then move her in. The way things are going doesn't look like I'll get much garden time in 2020 either.

Currently in the black hole of Calcutta, boarded up in half the lounge with all the furniture, and have been for 5 weeks. From tomorrow there will be light at the end of the Tunnel. Plasterers in refitting the ceiling today, and tomorrow the boarding comes down.

Hi There summersong, and welcome to the forum.
Young Cordyline australis always look like that, but the trunks thicken with age. They are actually tree proportions in some places.

Bringing back 'lost' members.
I've had connectivity issues of my own, with VM MODEM/Router keep losing internet, over the last few days. Wasn't aware of an issue on here. Added some new members at the weekend. I have no idea what locked people out, unless Aidan found an issue and resolved it.

Roof been insulated with celotex type insulation, and believe it or not, they fibreglassed the roof on Thursday. We were in the centre of the low pressure and was a bit like the eye of a hurricane, sunny and calm, but could see the rain bearing clouds, to the south and east, but they stayed away. La...

Wasn't hardy for me in NW Kent either. Just didn't seem to take off, but I do have to contend with summer droughts quite often.

Hi Bryan, and welcome to HTUK. Although I'm down in The Thames Estuary, I have been near your neck of the woods in the past. I used to do training courses at Haughton Hall at Shifnal. Lovely part of the country.

That looks a good solid job dave...nice to see it all bolted up properly aswell. You don't need to remind me of the rain, its been killing us lately . It's a family run company called Deaves, that installed my mahogany windows and conservatory 32 years ago. The fact that a family run company 32 year...

Bit of a disaster over the weekend. With the high winds and torrential rain, the tarp got damaged and let water in. First I knew about it was power tripped off on Sunday lunchtime :-o As I'm an ex-computer engineer, know how to fault find the electrics. so was up and running again in about 20 mins. ...

I can understand the joist upgrade 6x2 sounds about right looking at the spans. You can sometimes reduce joist depth by using a steel frame. Is it your choice to use fiberglass as a covering?, this time of year is not ideal as the substrate has to be almost moisture free to be 100% successful. As a...
