Musa basjoo flowering
It’s a shame the forum is closing and I didn’t stumble upon it beforehand. Thanks for the help on posting pictures, I thought it was a lot more difficult than that. Here are pics of the current crop and the latest musa’s I planted in the other corner by carefully removing some of the pups. The leave...

Musa basjoo flowering
Fair enough, thanks for the reply, think I’ll give it a miss on the saki recipe
Gutted it means it’s the death of the plant but there are plenty more pups to take over

Musa basjoo flowering
So I’ve just come back from a week camping and I’ve started tidying up the garden again I’ve noticed a huge flower from the largest of my 8 musa’s. I’ve had these for over 6 years and I’ve never expected them to flower before but I’m over the moon that it has :D What are my next steps? Will it devel...

Cordy replant
Moral of the story....... I hope your Cordy was only recently planted Ha, it was planted around 6 years ago!! I’ve stripped the leaves back to hopefully help root growth (read this somewhere else) to the point it looks a bit silly which is a right shame given the size it is in my small(ish) garden....

Cordy replant
Thanks for the reply, although it doesn’t look spectacular it’s well established so it would be a shame if it died.
I’m just keeping the roots soaked throughout the night since the move. I might post some pictures tomorrow as well as some of my other collections.

Cordy replant
I moved a cordy today since the wife and kids insist it’s it the way, I managed to rock it out (on a whim).without much force, it’s roughly 6meters high and had a small root ball, when rocking it out I heard a few crunch and cracks but when it was out it looked fairly in tact, it’s quite thin, I’d s...

Moving a Trachycarpus
Hi I want to replant my Trachycarpus to the edge of my garden since it Started to get in the way of the kids playing. It’s about 7ft tall, with a few male flowers (think it’s struggling where it is because it’s bedded in a clay based soil) How deep and wide should I go to to make sure I don’t damage...
