Good to see my old tawainiana has found a good home. Tough as old boots for me down here and should have been bigger by now due to it being slightly neglected at one stage. Swopped it for a Chamaerops icon_scratch . Someone did get a good deal!!

I grew some from seed this year. I sold two today and they were about three foot in height so they dont half grow quick!! I think chiltern seeds sell them.

I had a great time there today. The palm centre had a great Bamboo display and i got to meet the crug farm team who were really freindly and down to earth. Sheffleras looking great too.

I will be there on Saturday on the Hillier stand and will try and see as much as i can which is sometimes difficult :roll: I usually volunteer my services on the saturday as this is the day of the sell off, i wonder if crug will be selling anything off cheap? I dought it very much!! Would rather be ...

It will quite quickly spread to form a grove so not a good idea if you havnt got alot of space.

Yushania maculata is a nice wind tollerant bamboo. Abit of a runner but quite attractive. icon_thumleft

I have totally given up with growing anything slightly tender in the garden and have wasted plenty of money over the past few years , still on the up side the plants i have lost gave me great enjoyment when they were growing well!! I know that its a great challenge and all that to try and get things...

I have just obtained three chickens which i am very pleased with as i am now enjoying plenty of fresh eggs but i am reluctant to let them out of their run for fear of damage to my garden! Hi nige, its in bosham just outside Chichester. Its a wholesale suppliers who grow for a few of the big chains. They usually have a couple of sales to the public each year were they get rid of excess stock which didnt quite make the grade.

Thats right Adrian, well worth a look in icon_thumright usually lots of bargain price Tree ferns and other bits and bobs. Nothing rare or unusual but lots of dirt cheap plants!! Dicksonias usually sell for fifty quid for a decent 5-6 ft trunck.They normally have plenty of palms kicking around too.
