I had 3 of theese around the garden...1 was over 8ft..all 3 were totally slaughtered over the winter...JUST recovering now,but no flowers this year.

just spear pulled the big trachie behind the one in pic..not a pleasant smell,so dont think there will be a recovery..shame as it had grown about 4 ft of trunk and been in ground for about 6 years...the acer cant beleive how much space its now getting :?

some of us have to wait for the the dead foliage to grow out ,new foliage grow , and then wait for the flowers to find out :? should know in say 2020 :D

This winter has proved that No plant can go through a ST helens winter undamaged.So limitless money would pay for an acre of thermal covering eden style!!Id put the house inside as well..I dont like cold. :D

Decided to risk the inside stuff outside now....the Hibiscus has bloomed nice in the sun and both yuccas have taken off...The sabal Bs are slowly filling out and retaining that blue tinge. 8)

The big tyrachie didnt spear pull...or 4 other well established ones around it..there does seem to be plenty of furry mould in the growing point on all of them,the temps were really silly low..up to minus 20 and thereabouts a few times.

Bob....they will germinate just by sticking them in the ground or in tubs/pots outside..Idid have hundreds everywhere..winter claimed tons of em..but..still got plenty and some are recovering...they will even germinate laying ontop of gravel etc..good luck with them :D
