Visited Akamba yesterday, picked up a my first Dicksonia antarctica (4ft). Banana skin and chicken pellets with lots of water, was there advice to me. sat watching for fronds to appear now.. :)

I dont fancy leaving mine out this winter, so ive got a few choices my small greenhouse, mums unheated conservatory, or the left field suggestion of keeping it in my vw camper over the worst of the winter, or i could even chop it all back and try it unpotted in the shed. :? :? I know it must have been dry here because today i had to top my small pond up, gone down a good 3-4 inches :o
Ive also been having to do odd spot of watering, didnt think i would be so close to october.

I agree with Marfanuk, the place is so expensive :( and a no real choice of exotics, which is strange because the area they have is huge, but it was the prices there that really scared me ....probably just me, wont pay top dollar for nothing! :D

not posted any pictures of the garden for a while, still have probably the most wind shredded musa's on here, but still no breakages :) :) The forum has been a great help this year. and with all the pictures of stunning gardens on here i think i might have the confidence to up the ante in my own pat...
