Re: Been busy today...

Looks really good Nick, I really like the Bamboo fence.
It's gonna look even better when the plants fill out this summer.

Re: Philodendron selloum

Hows your Philodendron selloum doing now David, still putting on that great growth ? I have just moved mine into the greenhouse having over wintered indoors. It seems to have put a bit of a lean on, I forgot to rotate it. I'm hoping the spell in the greenhouse will sort that out. SA400121.JPG I've d...

Re: More goodies

Nice plants Mark,

Be warned the slugs & snails really love Veratrum nigrum. I bought 2 and the first night I had them they completely ate one of them :!:
I still have the other one, it's been in a pot for 2 years, I think I might brave it in the ground this year. :?

Re: Plant ID Please....

Having done a little Googling from Franks suggestion (thanks Frank icon_salut ), I think he's right. And it turns out Adrian was very close too. :) This thread on the BCSS confirms it. >>Click here if interested<< I'm planning an arid front garden project and this one is now added to the list of pla...

Re: Plant ID Please....

I have realised what I thought it was but now I'm not sure...... I thought it might be a Dyckia Morris Hobbs, Martin has one in his garden. Having done a google on 'Puya Chilensis', it does look a good contender. It doesn't look like my Fascicuala bicolor Adrian, leaves are too broad and no white ed...

Re: Japanese painted fern

Hi Jezza, I have mine as under planting around my Dicksonia antarctica too. It gets sun late afternoon and seems fine. Just a word of caution, Dicksonia antarctica's send out a massive root system, a very dense root system sucking moisture out off the soil very efficiently. In my Dicksonia antarctic...

Plant ID Please....

Hi Everyone,

Could someone tell what this is please, I feel I should know. I recognise it but for the life of me I can't remember it's name.

Thanks in advance.

Re: My garden this morning.........not good....

This was my view this morning. SA400097.JPG SA400098.JPG So I didn't really want to face the 3 mile ride into work on the push bike, so I took the day off to have some winter fun with the kids. SA400100.JPG It's been snowing most of the day here but it's no longer laying. Probably go back to work to...

Re: yucca eliphantipes

LOL what twat's Dave, leave them to it. They'd probably give you some guff about us all taking it the wrong way, but in the short it's pathetic. Boders my 7' Y.eliphantipes is in a pot and been outside unprotected for 3 years and is fine. I think you'll be ok. I'm hoping to get in the ground now the...
