Whats peoples PERSONAL experinces on overwintering these.........and does anyone know if they are any being sold off......B&Q, Ikea, GC's etc. I live the ones wwith the chunkier trunks on ebay from Germay.

Went to our local B & Q yesterday and bought one of these. I thought they were a good price at £8.98. It needs repotting, so when that's done it will be sitting on the patio for the Summer. They have excelled this year with their tropicals and were lots of different sorts to be had. DSCN0392.JPG Di

Phoenix roebelenii is flowering is head off this year. It has flowered before but not like this.

... were slightly brown, the garden center said, if you can, pull the fonds out that are brown, new ones should grow, is that right? or will my lovely roebelenii die? I popped into The Range (Ipswich branch) today for some drip irrigation stuff before my holiday.
I noticed they had a couple of fair sized Phoenix roebelenii for £39 each - just in case anyone is on the look out for one.

Is this how a phoenix roebelenii trunk should look like, is it normal for parts of the trunk to be soft and break of easily and bit of black on it, is it rot ??? :? (Those pictures are of my phoenix roebelenii)

Just got this from Homebase for £20 bargain!!! Such a shame you can't plant them out, but for that price I couldn't walk past. Out of curiosity has anyone tried this planted in the ground outside??
