Cyathea Medullaris over view.
I thought I would do a update on my 3ft C Medullarsi I purchased at the start of the year.
It as started to get its roots in to the soil and pushing out fronds.
Hopefully more fronds this year.

Cyathea Cunninghamii
I was wondering if anyone knows how best to look after C Cunninghamii ? I have grown C Cunninghamii before but have always lost them in winter even when kept frost free and well watered.

Cyathea dealbata creeping rhizome
I have a 2ft trunk dealbata and a dealbata with a trunk that is about 2inches. I have been reading that occasionally you can get a very rare creeping rhizome form, my small C Dealbatas crown grows horizontally every year which leads me the think that I have got a creeping form :D as well as the norm...

Dead Cyathea Medullaris
Today I checked on some of my tree ferns, so far I have binned three due to this winter. Today I noticed that one of my 1ft trunked Medullaris has died so I pulled all the dead croziers out of the crown to see that the central core had started to rot.
What a waste of a tree fern.

Cyathea root pruning...
I would like to make my fern a bit lighter than it is now. I know air layering will not work (or will it?) So I decided to make the rootball 25% smaller. Can this treatment kill the plant?

Cyathea still growing!!
I have been checking on my Cyathea (small cooperi and a larger 10" trunked Medularis) and to my surprise they are very slowly STILL putting out fronds.  It has to be said, this is in my heated polyhouse, but I'm talking ...

Should I get a Cyathea Australis
Simon has some in his sale for just over £20 with a 5-10cm trunk, which isn't much at all. I read they are suppose to be hardy to -12C!? What do you reckon guys, is it worth a punt?

Cyathea's without light?
My Cyathea is currently in the garage due to the frost we had the other night. There is no light. How long can I leave it there without it suffering? I plan to bring it back out tomorrow.

How to grow Cyathea Medullaris
I bought a Cyathea Medullaris in the 50% off sale at Amulree. Reading up it seems unlikely that it will survive outside; I have ample room in the unheated conservatory over winter - even at -16C last Winter the conservatory only ...

Cyathea Medularis Container Growing(Pictures Update)
I am thinking about buying a Medularis that will come in a 10litre pot. I have a few spare 40litre pots, would it be ok to put it straight into one of these? And how long would it take to fill this container usually? I will be putting it in an unheated room of my house during winter which stays abov...
