thanks bob and everyone else who replied ,the job took about two months to complete .that was during the hot summer of 1990 i think ? on some days it reached +35c and i think i lost a million gallons of sweat . bear in mind i had to do this job all on my own after a hard days work window cleaning. b...

a bit patchy in southampton . most okay in city center ,but severe damage in outskirts where it got to -11c. where i lived it got to -7c . and in city center it got down to -6c min i think .most purperia survived pretty well .

what about a ki wi plant .its a magnificant climber . i have a huge one on the back of my house and i get dozens of tasty ki wi fruits of it every year. also being deciduos, its lets the light through in winter . also its hardy to -7c . hope this is helpfull . billdango. icon_thumleft icon_thumleft ...

i have to say this . i visited a well known plant center just outside southampton last year and saw a row of brahea armata ,s absolutly bone dry and dead . these plants must have been worth thousands of pounds .they where still up for sale at over one hundred pounds each .i hate to think what a live...

no worrys everybody ,i got eye,s in the back of my head . it,s an even worse jungle in the back garden ,there,s so many palm and banana trees the government use it for jungle training . i am to scared to go out there at night in case i get torn apart by a west african tree pangolin. keep safe everyo...

don,t worry about the house arlon ,its quite safe from the palm roots as you will see when i send my next load of pictures . i also have lots more palms in my back garden inc a nice big butia capitata and a eight foot jubaea chilensis. i hope all your palm trees are okay after the last two dreadful ...

my most rewarding plant i think is a baby musa basjoo, which over the last ten years has grown into a massive clump sixteen feet high and twenty feet across. my biggest disapointment was losing my brahea armata by trying to move it to a sunnier spot in the garden. thats life i suppose . billdango. :...
