Shropshire seaweed

Just thought i'd share this with you all as I've been using it as a foliar spray feed this season on my fortuneis and waggies, takils and nainitals etc, the main difference i've noticed is the palms are a lot greener and healthier, and the improvement seems to happen quite quickly. This is the produ...

Re: watering Trachycarpus's during the heatwave

Thanks for all the tips guys. I think I'll water everyday fo now until it cools off a bit. My soil has a subsoil base and if that dries and cracks then any water runs away through the cracks. I'd rather keep it moist so it doesn't crack. At least now with your help I know it's not hurting to water d...

watering Trachycarpus's during the heatwave

I was wondering how often (and how much) to water my planted Trachycarpus's during the hot weather! The big waggie I had off Nigel has been in the ground for almost 18 months and I have a smaller fortunei which has been in about 10 months. In the front lawn I have two small fortunei's that have been...

Re: Ideas please - dry-ish, shady bank

Your garden sounds (and looks) just like mine! even down to the clay, oh and you forgot to mention the tree roots which prevent you digging! I have a large leaf Ivy as ground cover, I'll get the name later, A couple of Trachycarpus's are growing quite nicely and one of Nigels amazing waggies gives i...

My £10 Chammy

Just thought I'd share with you a pic of my bargain (i think) £10 chammy (at least i think it's a chammy)! I bought it off someone who was listing it as a Trachycarpus, when i viewed it and put him straight on the difference he said I could have it for a tenner :D It was in a 30ltr pot and I've just...
