Rob , they don`t grow so much , if you are lucky they will reach 1 foot , but get them wet , put them in a food beg and place them in a warm place ........ if you want to add foliage to your garden buy some eddoes for morrison or tesco , even lemon grass will grow more the ginger .....or if you want...

I always keep ginger in the house , for cooking or they are good for flu and cold , I keep mine in a dark warm place and they usually germinate with no problem , I plant them outdoor in May , but not a great crop as they need warm to grow , overall it`s more fun with lemon grass , arrow roots (highl...

Got some plants if you want or wait for june and I can get as many seeds as you need , the fruits are only available in June , around my area there are lots of big plants , imported by the Italians years ago , they only had fruit in the 2005 .

Bought 2 fruits last June , for 50p , planted 8 seeds , got 8 plants , done the same think 3 years ago , the seedling are frost hardy , they got through the 2010 winter absolutly fine , but they are really slow to grow. this is the picture of last june , they germinate 10 days later. http://i1113.ph...

If you get an ensete and chop it down to soil level, many many new plants will grow from the base. That is what these multiple stems could be from rather than a natural pupping as per musa Fieldfest , I`m aware of multiple stems if you cut an ensete to the base , but mine has only 3 and they are 3 ...

Guys thank you for your suggestion. kata your plant is like the other one I got , but now i know that is an Ensete Ventricosa Maurellii the one I bought has really long leaves and sharp tips , just like the montbeliardi .... thanks to you I just find out that there is an Ensete Ventricosa Montbeliar...
